BMW 318ti Sport. I loved this car.
Unfortunately in October, 1998, on Rt. 93N in Wilmington, MA, a
brakeless wonder in an '81 Volvo decided to total it for me by hitting me in
the back and pushing me into the car in front of me. Thanks a lot, dude. I
came out untouched, but the car was not so lucky. You can see pictures of the
aftermath here. Note that it was raining the day
I took these pictures. Pretty fitting for the wonderful mood I was in, I suppose.
The night of or after the accident, I was showing my friend an issue of European
Car's BMW Power magazine and saying that if the ti was totalled, I wanted an E30
M3. After two months of living hell, an E30 M3 is exactly what I got: 1991 M3,
Diamond Black. About 43,000 miles and incredible condition. Holy shit. This car
is unbelievable. As much as I loved the 318ti, the E30 M3 is like no other car I have
ever driven.
Anyway, this site is about my 318ti. Since there are already quite a few web
sites out dedicated to the 318ti, I will concentrate here on my car and the
modifications I have done. Pretty much everything was done by either Turner
Motorsport or HMS Motorsport. I would like to thank Turner, HMS, and the 318ti
mailing list for so much help and information. Between the BMW 318ti/Compact
Mailing List and the BMW Car Club of America, my ownership experience has been
enhanced tremendously.
The following sections are what I feel is necessary to talk about
relative my car. For certain redundancies in modifications between
performance and cosmetic, like suspension, I chose the more relevant.
Sure, the car looks great a little lower due to the suspension, but
the big gain is obviously in performance.
